All my life, I've been that kid. You know, the nerdy one. Chasing after the cool kids, crying out, "Hey! Wait for me!"
Want proof?
Wait for it...
I was a bit of a dreamer.
A lollygagger, an old lady or nun might say.
So stuck in my own head,
I wasn't too innovative or on the up and up.
I just tagged a long.

In my food blogger life, not much has changed. This week, I have gone blogger recipe crazy. I'm basically jumping onto everyone's coattails and throwing my arms out like I'm goin' surfin'.
Seriously though. There was some ingenious stuff going on this week in healthy food blogger world. This is what I've made so far.

How did I know they would be good? I was licking the batter bowl!
Each one was topped with vegan butter and nutritional yeast ...
... simple yet comforting.
And for dessert...

The cake and coconut butter were sweetened with stevia. I finished off my Sweetleaf and turned to the dark side, Nu Naturals. Why is Nu Naturals the dark side? Because they sweeten their stevia with natural flavors and maltodextrin. It was a moment of weakness, I swear. And because Nu Naturals stevia is the most delicious stevia I've ever had!!! Damn you, flavors.
Don't worry, I'll get through the bottle quick.
Speaking of sweet treats, check out Iris' fruit roll ups!!! I'm totally making one of these for breakfast tomorrow!

Thanks! Let me know if you like them. And btw, that picture of you is the cutest thing ever! I was always that kid who was neither here nor there. Not cool, but not uncool. But I used to walk home reading my book, so that probably wasn't so cool, huh? I knew I should wait until I got home to read, but I just couldn't resist.
That picture is priceless. I cried my eyes out when my mom wouldn't let me go to the school with uniforms!
I hear ya - I'm not an innovator food-wise at all, but I love to be inspired by folks who are so good at it.
You are adorable!
And love the coconut butter ; )

Hey dreamer,
I think we all have those pictures...
I need to try some new recipes. I just looked through Vegan With A Vengeance and, I swear, the majority of recipes were desserts or maybe it was just my imagination.
Sounds like it's been a very tasty week thus far. :)
P.S. I had a pair of glasses that was very similar to yours...what were we thinking?!?
Thanks for the sweet comments, ladies! I wish I had you around when I was six! :)
Wow if stevia is the dark side, I am down the hell hole and back b/c I use lots :)
Great eats girl! Don't be too hard on yourself with all these trace things...you're getting micrograms of additive and considering you're using fractions of an ounce in a recipe of the product, the additive is just so minute.
Trying to help you rationalize and not stress...hope you have a great weekend!!
Averie, you rock! You are totally right. Thank you so much for your kind words.
Your "uncool" picture is nothing compared to mine! I had braces, glasses, terrible skin and was way too skinny. I was a total loser!!
Loving the pancakes, what a great recipe to tag along to.
every time i check out your blog i think, "dang! that totally shoulda been the title of MY blog!"
...if you only knew. LOL!!
also, the picture of you as a kid-awesome.
it reminds me of the cartoon character "The Mighty B"
It's my daughter's and my fave. She is awesome.
