I Hate Air Conditioning

The chronic sore throat is back!
And it's air conditioning's fault.

In PA, we've had it in the 90s for the last two, maybe three, weeks. Stand outside for five minutes and you're drenched in sweat. Go back inside and the air conditioning shellacs the sweat to your skin like icicles.

It sucks.

However, I can't put all the blame on the AC...

It's also my stomach's fault. I've had HORRIBLE IBS all week.

See the pic? That's pregnant lady belly, seat belt style. It's what I've got going on right now. And I've eaten only a date bar, some protein powder, and some broccoli ALL DAY. It's almost seven PM at night.

Let's kill two birds with one stone, shall we?

Stuck in the AC Tea

1/2 cup rice milk
1/2 cup macadamia milk
1 teaspoon cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
7 drops of vanilla stevia

Ginger, cardamom and cayenne are all EXCELLENT herbs for both cold symptoms AND digestion. They kick ass because they are HOT. They get the intestines swimming. They send the mucus packing.

If you are like me - suffering from AC syndrome - don't go feeling all summery and hitting up the peppermint. That's a cold herb. Warm herbs are best for the red freonned throats.

Don't look at me. This is just the shit that I read. Matthew Wood. Herb Mentor. Rosemary Gladstar. Herbal Ed. The info's out there.

Hmmm... and guess what?

I feel better now!

Maybe enough to go play with my plants a little.

Check out valerian!

Daddy says it's gonna bust through the kitchen window!!!

Feed me Seymour!

I think those are the cutest pics I've ever seen of you!
Sorry 'bout the preggo lady belly
:(
Been there. Waaaaaaaaaay too many times.
That tea sounds really good-kinda like Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice or something. I think your version would be better though :)
SO happy you're feeling better!!

I hear ya - I hate AC. Once I get cold I can't get warm, and it's like having ice in my veins. The tea sounds yummy. Can't say I've seen Macadamia milk anywhere - is that a health food store item.

Protein powder and me = terrible stomach ache. I also hear that broccoli does the same for some people.

Sorry about the ridiculous weather! Come out to LA and visit me...it is pretty nice here!! :)

I agree with Heather. Super cute pics!

I had a major attack of the belly bloat yesterday. Just green smoothies and vegetable juices today and I feel much better, but I've got to eat sometime, right?

I hate AC, too! It's one of the few things I truly love about my job this summer... waitressing outside, on a deck. Yes, I'm sweating, but isn't that what summer is all about? I remember back in my 9-5 office job days having to wear heavy sweaters at work on 90+ degree days just to stay awake!

I'm sorry to hear about your belly. But that tea sounds delicious ;-)

Heather - you called it! anything w. cardamom is bengaly! :)

Kelli - oh no! razor nips!

Carbzy - no mac milk in the store. it's 1/4 cup of macadamias processed in 1 cup water, then strained through a t-shirt. sooooo tasty.

Ameena - Yeah most protein powder bugs me too. I found Lifetime is pretty good, so's Vega.

Iris - Yeah the smoothies can only tide you over for so long. Are you feelin' any better? I hope so!

Sax - Ditto on the love of waitress sweat. You really feel like you are working for your money! And that end of shift drink is so deserved! :)

Sorry about the heat and the tummy. It is hotter than heck here in hotlanta!!! We have 2 AC's and my husband just asked if he could get a window AC for his office. It is in the back of the house so, it won't look too bad, but dang...the heat is awful! I love ginger for the tummy. I hope yours feels better soon! I HATE IBS!

We're the same, I also don't like air conditioning, it makes my bones suck. I can't able to sleep when the aircon is on at home. Maybe I should turn it off so that I can sleep well at night. Ahm at day its just okay but at night I can't bare the pain it will bring to me.
